The Process

Here’s an overview of the process we’ll take you through when you choose to partner with us to build your kit Cobra.

1. Purchasing Your Kit

We start with an in-depth consultation prior to the purchase of your kit because there are a lot of inter-dependent choices and decisions you’ll need to make, such as:

  • Motor: Not only will the motor you choose determine the factory placement of mounts on the frame, it will impact your transmission options.
  • Transmission: This choice hinges on how you plan to drive your roadster. If you’re building a track-day car you won’t select the same transmission as someone building a cruiser.
  • Rear Differential: Do you want a solid axle or independent rear suspension? Gear ratio is a factor in this decision, and impacts the selection of an appropriate drive shaft.
  • Then there’s steering, brakes, interior etc…

We will help you weigh the pros and cons of the myriad of options available because starting with the right kit purchase sets the stage for a smooth and cost-effective build. Also, going through this process allows us to provide you with a realistic complete project estimate.

2. Arranging Delivery

You have a few options to consider in this regard.

  • If you live close enough, you could pick up your kit at the Factory Five facility in Massachusetts and deliver it to us in New Hampshire; a 2-3 hour drive (depending on traffic.)
  • For an additional fee, we could pick it up from Factory Five for you.
  • You could have it shipped directly to us.

Depending on where you live, one option may offer significant savings over another. We’ll walk you through the logistics associated with each one.

3. Beginning the Build

Once your kit has arrived at our location, we’ll begin your build. We’ll stay in touch with you throughout the process to keep you informed about the progress of your car and to discuss specifics along the way.

Part of the excitement of building a kit Cobra is watching take shape. You are welcome to visit and check on the status of your build, but for many customers, that is not an option. That is why we create a personal online photo album that documents the progress of your build…it’s the next best thing to being here.
