The AC Cobra is well-loved among car enthusiasts. Since originals are rare (and pricey) the only path to ownership is a kit car.
At Kit Cobras we only do one thing; we make Factory Five MK4 Roasters to our customer’s exact specifications.

As much as you may want to build one yourself, if you don’t have the time, space or know-how to complete the project, it may not be feasible.
If you can’t build it yourself, you’ve only got two options:
- Buy someone else’s finished kit. But you’ll probably have to compromise on one or all of the following: model, color or options.
- Have someone build it for you – exactly the way you would build it yourself if you had the time, space and skill to do so. That’s what we do. We build your kit cobra your way
Our Team
Carl Johnson, Owner/Builder
You could say that Carl’s mechanical interests are hard wired. He pulled apart his first lawnmower in elementary school and had fully restored his first antique car at the age of 16: this 1952 MGTD, which was his Dad’s daily driver for many years.
By the time he was out of college, he’d rebuilt or painted a half-dozen cars. After graduation, he put his education degree to use teaching industrial technology, including sheet metal and fiberglass fabrication, automotive, welding, woodworking and more.
As a technology early adopter, Carl created a high school program in 1999 that earned a prestigious National Education Award for Technology Program of the Year for the State of New Hampshire. His long-time ambition of building his own, ideal AC Cobra fed his desire to help others achieve the same goal.

A Certified Marketing Coach, Lisa primarily tends to the marketing aspects of the business and acts as an extra set of hands, when Carl asks… which — true to his independent Swedish heritage– is almost never!
